DRAMA EN LA CACERÍA

<p>One of the very few of Anton Chekhov’s works long enough to be considered a proper novel, <i>The Shooting Party</i> focuses on the mysterious murder of a young woman during a hunting excursion at the estate of a decadent count. The woman’s elderly husband is the prime suspect and a local magistrate is called to investigate, but the plot thickens when it is revealed that the victim was involved in a relationship not only with her husband, but also with the libertine count and the magistrate himself. This dark, engrossing novel, which preceded some of Chekhov’s most celebrated works, is rich with the style that would make the writer one of the most celebrated authors in literary history.</p>
